A little Thank you

I had a surprise online order yesterday, and those are pretty awesome.  It was by a new customer who found me on my demo website.  I made a little thank you to mail out to her with my business card and to invite her to my upcoming classes.

I used the new Bohemian DSP, and the stamps from Tin of cards stamp set.

I am loving that stamp set!

thanks for stopping by :)

build a birthday

I find I am always in need of birthday cards, so when I saw this set, I knew it would be a great set to play with.  And this set didn't disappoint.

Here are a couple ways to use this set...
you can make candles with the "washi" stamps.  I added dimension by using dimensionals to the middle candle.  Since this set is photopolyer, it makes it easy to line everything up nicely.

you can use pieces of washi tape and add flames to the tops as candles.  I like this-and it's quick and easy.

And you can make a layer cake with the "washi" stamps.  (now as a 4th option, you can also use the washi tape as cake layers)

this set is really fun to play with!

thanks for stopping by.

Happy stampin :)

welcome little one

Always fun skype-crafting with my friend Michelle.  We have so much fun and laughter, but we do get down to business.  She has a pretty full schedule the next couple weeks.  But I had to make a few cards... one of them was this cutie.  I had to play around with some new things...and I love, love love them!
The new stamp set: Made with love is adorable!  I love the bold colours and patterns of the new Bohemian DSP and adding the natural element expression just tied it all together..  I also love the look of the new washi tape punch.

This could easily be adapted for a baby girl as well.

the inside.  Now normally I make cards to sell, and I don't do the inside.  But I had to with this one.  Too many cute options with this stamp set!

Thanks for looking.

Catalog reveal

Last Saturday I had my Stampin' Up! Catalog reveal.  We had a great time.  They made the tin of cards which made 16 cards.  Then we made some additional cards using the same sentiments from the stamp set, and the new 2015-2016 in colours.

I love the new in colours:
 TIP TOP TAUPE
 MINT MACARON
 DELIGHTFUL DIJON
 CUCUMBER CRUSH
WATERMELON WONDER

these were quick and easy cards and lots of fun to make

Then on Sunday, I made some cards using the new Cherry On Top paper stack, and again, the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Tin Of Cards stamp set.  Another quick and easy set of cards.

Thanks for stopping by.

It's been a bit quiet here...

but there has been a good reason for it. I have been out of the Country. I've been in England to be precise. It's been a great trip. Two years ago, my friend Michelle (aka DoodlebirdDesigns) came to visit me. This month I went to visit her! What an adventure!

I was lucky enough to attend the UK Regional event in Telford, UK.  There were 5 of us in the group (the 6th one was a special gift)  And we made roomie gifts.  This was mine.  For some reason, these English people like Hershey Chocolate LOL  so inside their decorated case, was 6 Hershey nuggets, a butterfly note pad (because they are the Butterfly Belles), a mini gel pen and the special gift- a personalized photopolymer stamp with their blog address on it.  They loved them!

The servers at lunch were really awesome, and when they found out I came all the way from the USA and have never been to the UK before, they let me try a bit of everything for lunch.  This was amazing!  The funniest part was the fact that I don't like nor do I eat cabbage... well when I found out I was eating this "lettuce" looking stuff on my plate-and that it was cabbage, you could have knocked me over with a spoon! I liked it!  there were a few times this trip I've had cabbage-and liked it!]]

This was the man that helped make it possible for me to attend!  Chris Demo support in Europe.  It was so awesome to be a part of this event.

He was also known as Chris the Catalog that day...and I'm gonna make him International :)

The event was an all day event.  Of course there was PRIZE PATROL!!!  The first one was an everyone wins!  we all won a Stampin' Up! Calculator  That was really cool.

when we registered and checked in, we had to pick a number.  I picked #115.  There were only 3 Prize Patrols.  And Michelle and I won this one (as well as a few other girls I knew).  A new stamp set from the to be released 2015-2016 catalog!  WOO HOO!!!!!!  It included the stamp set AND a pack of the vellum treat bags.  I was a happy demonstrator!

There was lots of business talk, and some comedy.  But this was cool because this picture shows the UK demos who were asked to be on the Design Team for the event.  My friend Michelle was one of them!  So were a few other girls I knew (but just met that day)  the displays were lovely.

thanks for stopping by.  This trip has been utterly amazing!  I am looking forward to the new catalog and sharing some new ideas and products

Happy stampin :)

I'm really excited for the upcoming Stampin' Up! Catalog! I just received my hard copy today...and it's hard not to drool all over it! lol One of the things I love about being a demonstrator is the sneak peek I get at the release of new catalogs (annual, spring and holiday) I get to order items ahead of time, and play with them. Today I'm showing you some of the items I got...and most of it was FREE!
I am looking forward to my Catalog kick off in June! stay tuned for projects featuring NEW items.... happy stampin' If you want to earn FREE items, let me know.

wedding bells...

Tis the season for weddings... A co-worker asked me if I could make a Tiffany inspired engagement card for her sister that just got engaged this past weekend. So this is what I worked on tonight...

After working on the diamond, which I wanted to be the stand out part of the card, I assembled all the pieces.

I'm pleased how it turned out, I hope my co-worker is too...

Wedding favours

Today was just another day...so I started to work on some orders I needed to work on.   I was asked to make wedding invites and favours, and I started on the favours today.

I cut, scored and prepped 22 of them.  One was made as my sample to show the bride to be- and she loved them.  They will hold a Yankee votive in the scent of her choice.

I saw a video by Pootles, and incorporated the wedding colours.

here is the inside.  The candle will be held in place with the punched out area.
and here it is all boxed up.  I think it looks rather elegant.  And I think her guests will enjoy these at their place settings.

There's a first time for everything they say....

And this would be one of them....My friend Sue nominated me to take part in this Creative blog hop, and this was a first for me.  I have no problem blogging (most times) lol.  I don't blog daily -and I'd like to, but life just gets in the way.  But I try to post as often as I can....

This weekend (like most) I get to skype-craft with my friend Michelle in the UK.  As long as the connection is good, we're good to go.  We have a lot of fun skype-crafting.  We share ideas, work on projects together-and what's cool is even if we're working on the same thing, we can still come up with something slightly (or not so slightly) different. lol  Either way, it's a lot of fun!

So, Saturday I was working on my team swaps for our team meeting on Sunday.  I had to revamp things because unfortunately, Stampin Up had to discontinue the blendabilities.  I really liked them, but I understand their decision.  So I went "old school" and back to my water colouring with my aqua painter.  I do enjoy water colouring.

This was my original swap card.  It makes me think of the saying..."When life gives you lemons..."  I suppose I could have re-stamped them and just water coloured them then... but I decided I wanted to use another stamp set from the Spring Catalog.  By the way....this one here, is still available as a FREE item until March 31st.

Here is the card I did for the swaps instead:
I find water colouring relaxes me.  I used the colour combo: Wild Wasabi, Pink Pirouette, Coastal Cabana.   I think the colours give a nice Spring feel, which after this winter and snow, I'm ready for some warmer weather!

• What are you working on now?

I have a few things I've got going.  I am going to England in May, and I'll be attending the Telford Regional there, so I have swaps, roomie gifts, and a shoebox swap to put together.  I am really excited about attending, and I'll be with some great girls as well!

• How does your work differ from others in your genre?

I don't think my work is different from anyone else.  I get a lot of ideas from pinterest.  And I love that CASEing is greatly used by fellow demonstrators.  It's nice to share ideas.

• Why do you create what you do?

Whatever I create, will depend on my mood.  I work hard during the week, and my weekends are my break/escape from reality if you will.  I need that down time to recharge so I can go back to work on Monday and go with the flow.

How does your creativity work?

I see something I like.  I have found that I now look at items when I go shopping for colour combos.  It's funny how I can look at something and see it with a Stampin Up! palette in mind.   If I get stumped for an idea, I'll look at a stamp set I want to work with, and hit pinterest with it.

I hope you have enjoyed this little insight into my world, and thank you for stopping by. I would like to nominate a good friend Helen  to continue this hop.

Day 5

Sorry for the delay in posting this.  I've had laryngitis for the last 2 weeks, and it's kind of kicking my butt.  I have still made my cards each night, but I just haven't blogged about them.

So here we are for Day 5

I used a set called Cheerful Critters.  These guys are too stinking cute.  There are a few sayings that can be stamped inside their "signs".  I also used the Birthday Bash DSP.  simple but fun.

Day 4- Sheltering Tree

Today is Day 4 in the 30 day art challenge.  Today was a rough one and it made me really appreciate a friend I can totally count on.  So I made this card for them.

I used a set from the Spring Catalog- it's called Sheltering Tree.  It's a photopolymer stamp set, and it is a lovely set to use.  There are lots of other elements but I kept it simple.

Thanks for stopping by.

Day 3 .... Sale A Bration Thanks

here we are ... Day 3.  And I didn't think I would make it.   Not because I couldn't create a card today...but the weather has been horrendous here, and a 45 minute drive home took 3 hours!  By the time I got home, I was wrecked.  But I just had to open the box that was delivered today (it would be rude not to, right)?

so I pulled out a new stamp set and some new twine.

The stamp set is one of the new bonus items you can choose for FREE during this month for Sale A Bration.  It's a really nice set.  (there is another stamp set, a stack of vellum and current In-Colour twine/buttons you can also choose from that was added for this month)

I used the blendabilities, which I am sad to report that for now, they are not available since there have been some problems with a few.  I am hoping that they come back soon, because they are great for colouring.

If you'd like to see what's available, visit my site. There's a link to the right.

Day 2 of the 30 Day Art Challenge

Well I am on a roll lol.  Day 2 and I made a wedding card.  I was asked to make a card for a co-worker who is getting married this month.  I wasn't told her wedding colours, but I knew the new SU Spring Catalog goodies would work very well.
I love the new SU Spring Catalog.  There are so many great items in there.  I used the stamp set- The New Two.  I also used the new Something Borrowed DSP.  It coordinates with Sahara Sand and Whisper White.  Totally Classic.

Thanks for stopping by....

wonder what Day 3 will bring...

Day 1 of the 30 day art challenge

I have decided to take part on a team 30 day art challenge.  Every day I plan on posting a new card/project and hopefully that'll help me with my blogging as well

so here goes- Day 1

I used Soft Suede as my card base and the SAB Best Year Ever DSP. (you can earn that free during Sale A Bration).  I used the Big Day stamp set (another free item you can choose)

This cam together rather quickly, but makes a great birthday card

Valentine's goodies

A cold Sunday afternoon and preparing for the upcoming storm, and I worked on a few things.  I'm putting together one of the Spring bouquet kits and realized I do not have a hot glue gun...so I just did all the stamping ahead of time.  Then I turned my attention to the new My Paper Pumpkin kit I received on Saturday....

The kit makes 24 treat sacks and includes everything you need to make them.  They are really cute...however, since my son is almost 20, and doesn't need the Valentine treats for class (which this would make an awesome set for)!  I made 2 cards and 2 treat bags for a friend.

I am really loving the My Paper Pumpkin kits!

If you'd like to get your own monthly kit, let me know.  There is a special right now, that if you do a 3 month paid subscription during Sale A Bration, you can save on the kits.

Thanks for stopping by...

this is pretty awesome!  Every Tuesday Stampin' Up! offers approximately 7 items and 1 digital download on their weekly deals.  This week we have a set of the new blendabilities markers, three different colours in the bakers twine, both sets of In Colour marker pens, the new 2014-2016 In Colour clothespins embellishments, and the Box of Chocolates digital download.  I love the bakers twine.  I use it on a lot of cards, and works great to make little banners (great for decorating a work cubicle, office space etc).  If you want to do some happy shopping, you can click on the link on the right and it'll take you to my page.

Of course if you want to get your items at an additional discount- I'm always looking for new recruits.  You can do as much or as little as you want.  Just ask me how.

Happy shopping ;)
