so I guess this morning is the morning to catch up on my blogs... I recently did a birthday card for a special person... my favourite aunt.  Her birthday is today, so I am hoping the card arrived in time-and in tact. (when you see it, you'll see why)

it was time consuming, but SO worth it-for the person it is for.

This card uses the 2011-2013 in colour inks and paper.

it is stamped with one of the flowers from Array of Sunshine which is in the current IBC as a hostess set.  I wasn't sure how much I'd like it, as flowers really aren't my "thing" but I really love how this came out.  Each flower is stamped three times.  Where the white line is on the blossom is cut, creating 3 layers.  they are then mounted with the stampin dimensionals, and while it's not shown in this picture, the centers have the basic rhinestone jewels.  The cardstock is whisper white and lucky limeade, island indigo, calypso coral, wisteria wonder; pool party.

thanks for looking :)
the fun just doesn't end.  and that is a good thing.  I got another request (well order) from another co worker.  about 7 cards in total, and one had to be done by Friday.  This one was for a bridal shower.  No pressure lol.  But I think I rose to the task.  Here is what I gave to her on Tuesday...

She liked it, and I love how it turned out.  I love the Lattice die, and I can see more cards featuring this element.  The stamp is Vintage Frames-another retired one, but worked perfectly for this.  The bling adds a nice elegant touch.

Thanks for looking :) and please leave a comment if you'd like.
this past weekend I attended my very first team meeting.  I didn't know what to expect, and it was an AMAZING time!  So much laughter, so many talented women, and great ideas were shared!  I received a lot of positive comments on my card front I did for the swap.  Considering it was my first one, I was pleased with that.
When I came home, I worked on the make and takes.  here is what I did...

this card used the Sweet Shop stickers, DSP and pool party In colour card stock.
it is simple, but sweet.

this one was fun.  I loved the framelits and I look forward to making more cards with those dies.  The lucky limeade card stock is also embossed, which adds some dimension to it.

I think this is one of my favourites.  So much going on with it, but it works!  The blues and reds really pop, and the row of stickers on the bottom just adds a little something to it.  I love the jelly bean brad, so playful and sweet.

this card originally was shown as a get well card.  I went out and did my own thing with it.  I used a birthday stamp (retired) but used my in colour markers and coloured it.  the embossed frame is a nice added dimension and I love the new baker's twine that matches the purple Sweet Shop DSP (which is embossed)

Thanks for looking, and feel free to leave a comment :)

oh the excitement~

I placed my first order for my stampin up stock...I want to start thinking about workshops and classes to offer, so I had to get some basics and supplies...  the damage wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be though LOL.  I can't wait to start posting things I've made and will offer.  I still plan on taking custom card orders, but I would like to build a stock of basic cards to be able to sell.  I am anticipating attending my first team meeting in a couple weeks-and I know I'll come back from that totally excited and have a TON of ideas!!!

well that's about all I have for today...my business cards should arrive today so I'm excited about that.  It'll be nice to be able to pass those around.

oh the excitement builds... I want to go play!!!

The last week has been a whirlwind.  I've been working on setting up my website, ordering my business cards and working on ideas to offer classes and workshops.  I am working on expanding my customer base, and I find that is more liberating being a Stampin Up demonstrator.  It's a new concept but one I am grateful for.  It's a little intimidating, but I think I can really do well here.  I've had a few words of encouragement (for which I am truly grateful for) and I anticipate seeing where this new venture can take me....
