This weekend (like most) I get to skype-craft with my friend Michelle in the UK. As long as the connection is good, we're good to go. We have a lot of fun skype-crafting. We share ideas, work on projects together-and what's cool is even if we're working on the same thing, we can still come up with something slightly (or not so slightly) different. lol Either way, it's a lot of fun!
So, Saturday I was working on my team swaps for our team meeting on Sunday. I had to revamp things because unfortunately, Stampin Up had to discontinue the blendabilities. I really liked them, but I understand their decision. So I went "old school" and back to my water colouring with my aqua painter. I do enjoy water colouring.
This was my original swap card. It makes me think of the saying..."When life gives you lemons..." I suppose I could have re-stamped them and just water coloured them then... but I decided I wanted to use another stamp set from the Spring Catalog. By the way....this one here, is still available as a FREE item until March 31st.
Here is the card I did for the swaps instead:
I find water colouring relaxes me. I used the colour combo: Wild Wasabi, Pink Pirouette, Coastal Cabana. I think the colours give a nice Spring feel, which after this winter and snow, I'm ready for some warmer weather!
• What are you working on now?
I have a few things I've got going. I am going to England in May, and I'll be attending the Telford Regional there, so I have swaps, roomie gifts, and a shoebox swap to put together. I am really excited about attending, and I'll be with some great girls as well!
• How does your work differ from others in your genre?
I don't think my work is different from anyone else. I get a lot of ideas from pinterest. And I love that CASEing is greatly used by fellow demonstrators. It's nice to share ideas.
• Why do you create what you do?
Whatever I create, will depend on my mood. I work hard during the week, and my weekends are my break/escape from reality if you will. I need that down time to recharge so I can go back to work on Monday and go with the flow.
I see something I like. I have found that I now look at items when I go shopping for colour combos. It's funny how I can look at something and see it with a Stampin Up! palette in mind. If I get stumped for an idea, I'll look at a stamp set I want to work with, and hit pinterest with it.
I hope you have enjoyed this little insight into my world, and thank you for stopping by. I would like to nominate a good friend Helen to continue this hop.
