The hubby of one of my dearest friends has a birthday coming up. He loves sailing, and what better way to celebrate his birthday than with a sail boat birthday card.
this one I am very pleased with. I used 2 stamps. Stampin' Up! Sail Away (which is retired) and an image from the current catalog- Timeless Textures. The effect it gives is absolutely awesome.
It worked well as I inked the image, then I stamped off one time onto my grid paper, then stamped on the white card stock. I did this every time, and it gave a lighter effect, and created depth when I overlapped the stamp. I masked off the sails, so I could stamp in between them. Then I added wink of stella on the water only. It's across all of it, but the flash of my camera caught it as a highlight, which was a nice effect.
I think I'm going to have to make more of these cards. And try this effect for the sky as well for other images (motorcycle, truck, scenery, etc)

Happy Stampin' x

I just know the perfect place for it....
..........on my cubicle wall at work! lol It holds a few of my favourite things... first of all-my son (and pride and joy), a picture of Manchester United (my boyfriend's favourite footie team) and of course-my business card (because believe it or not-that's not work! I love my business) :)
now my son and I had a bonding moment this weekend... He wanted to make his father a birthday card-so I let him have at my stuff...
I like what he did. He was pleased with it too--hopefully his father reacted properly LOL
he had fun making it :) so it was a good afternoon in the igloo before he went back to his father's....
thanks for stopping by :)
