Stamp a Stack

Every month I send out birthday cards for a BRAK (Birthday Random Act of Kindness) on a board I've been on for what seems like-forever.  So I always do a stack of birthday cards for each month to send out.  This one was fun to make.  I used the now retired stamp set from Sale-A-Bration Eclectic Expressions.  It was the first time I took it out to play with.  I will definitely have to use it more.  There is also a "thank you" sentiment, so it's great for all kinds of cards.

this one was cased from Pinterest, with a couple changes.  The original was just stamped on a white card base, but I wanted to add an additional layer, and put it on a base of Night of Navy.  I used Bermuda Bay and Night of Navy ink.  I also did a stamp off on the front "splotches" to make sure the sentiment stood out.

I was easily able to make a stack of 18 of these rather quickly.

it's all monkey business here

I love making cards for my coworkers for their birthdays.  One that's coming up likes monkeys, so this year I used an old set from Stampin' Up! called Sock Monkey.

there are layers on this from the cupcake being popped up with dimensionals, to the party hat being cut and watercoloured and added to the monkey's head.  I am pleased how it came out.  I love the new in-colour lemon lime twist.  I also used other current in-colours dapper denim and emerald envy.  I am pleased how this card came out- and I can't wait to give it to the birthday girl.  I hope she likes it :)

wedding on the beach

I was asked last minute by one of my co-workers if I could make a card for the wedding she was going to over the weekend.  I say, sure, what style/theme would you like?  Beach?  sure.... no problem.  Already in my head I'm thinking of a few images I have....

So I get home that night, and right after dinner, I get to work....

this is what I came up with:
After finding out what the wedding colour was, I knew I had to use my old retired SU Coastal Cabana ink and paper.  In fact, everything on this card is retired (I guess that's why I never sell my retired stamp sets) lol

after getting my fingers all inky using Tempting Turquoise, Coastal Cabana and Crumb Cake and inking up the whisper white card stock.  I was quite pleased how the colours blended.  I then took the palm tree from another retired set: Tropical Party.  I used my SU Stamp and write markers in Soft Suede and Old Olive and coloured on the stamped image and lined it up using my stamp-a-majig.  I then stamped the bride and groom on whisper white and archival black. This image was from the SU Best of set: Brides and Babies. I added by using my aqua painter coastal cabana on the tux, bow and flowers.  I then added some blush blossom (another retired stamp n write colour marker)  then I took my wink of stella and coloured in the bride's dress.  I also took my white gel pen and added "waves" to break up the beach and water.  I then stamped the outside sentiment from the stamp set: For the New Two.  I punched a row of the hearts from the heart border punch, and used a heart that covered the black one from the sentiment.

I cut a piece of crumb cake card stock and inked the edges with soft suede and used that as a mat between the card base and image.

I typically do not write or put sentiments inside all of my cards, but sometimes I do.  I did for this one:

For the inside of the card, I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set For the New Two, then inked up the flowers in coastal cabana, stamped off one time then stamped over the sentiment to add a little something extra to it.

so after getting a "shove" from another member on one of the facebook boards I share my work on, she suggested I submit it to

A little Thank you

I had a surprise online order yesterday, and those are pretty awesome.  It was by a new customer who found me on my demo website.  I made a little thank you to mail out to her with my business card and to invite her to my upcoming classes.

I used the new Bohemian DSP, and the stamps from Tin of cards stamp set.

I am loving that stamp set!

thanks for stopping by :)

welcome little one

Always fun skype-crafting with my friend Michelle.  We have so much fun and laughter, but we do get down to business.  She has a pretty full schedule the next couple weeks.  But I had to make a few cards... one of them was this cutie.  I had to play around with some new things...and I love, love love them!
The new stamp set: Made with love is adorable!  I love the bold colours and patterns of the new Bohemian DSP and adding the natural element expression just tied it all together..  I also love the look of the new washi tape punch.

This could easily be adapted for a baby girl as well.

the inside.  Now normally I make cards to sell, and I don't do the inside.  But I had to with this one.  Too many cute options with this stamp set!

Thanks for looking.

Come Party With Me!

Thursday was my birthday, and since last year I've done a "come party with me" event.  Guests come make cards and celebrate my birthday---but they get the presents!  It was a lot of fun last year, and since I went to the Sale-A-Bration kick off...I have a huge surprise for my guests!  They will be playing with some NEW product that will be available January 6, 2015

this first card uses 2 new sets.  I love the new lotus blossom.  And you want to know something?  You can earn it FREE!  during Sale A Bration, for every $50 you spend, you can choose an item from the SAB catalog FREE!  (and it is PACKED with great items)!  The second stamp set used is: Best Day Ever.  I just thought it added some fun to the lotus blossoms.

This card was FUN to make!  It uses a new stamp and framelit bundle. AND something awesome... Washi sheets.  Yes you read that right.  In the new Occasions catalog there are washi sheets.  8 sheets (2 sheets of 4 designs/colours)  and they were fun to play with.  The balloon is a framelit.  And I can see so many ideas to be made with them!

Now I love the bow die we have, but this is just adorable... a bow PUNCH!  It makes such an adorable addition to a card or the tiny treat boxes.  The DSP used is from the birthday specialty paper...and it's beautiful!  There are 2 sheets with gold accents (need I say more)?

This quick little card came together fast and easy with the use of the new Ornate Tag topper punch. (yes that means there is a new tag topper coming)  I love the Celebrate Today stamp set.  I think this will be one of my favourite birthday stamp sets.
The last card that they'll make is using the stamp set we received FREE at the SAB kick off!  (who doesn't like FREE?)  It's called One Tag Fits All.  There are so many great things to make with this set.

Thanks for stopping by, and I can't wait for my guests to arrive tomorrow!

Card Front Swap

I'm super excited to be going to the SU Catalog Kick Off on Dec 3.  A bunch of SU demos will be attending at the Baltimore event, including a group of my team mates.  We're doing a card front swap, and here is mine.

I used the stamp set- Amazing Birthday.  I chose crumb cake and lost lagoon.  It was a bit of fussy cutting, but I do like how it came out. I embossed the lost lagoon with the zig zag embossing folder.  I also used linen thread, candy dot base and a basic gem (coloured with the medium shade from Night of Navy blendabilities).

Today I got to skype-craft with my friend from Doodlebird Designs and we made these cute little tea light boxes.  They come together nicely and look so cute.  You can also make them out of a lighter shade of cardstock and stamp an image around it.

I think they'd make great wedding favours or Christmas stocking stuffers

I used the new In-Colours: Blackberry Bliss, Lost Lagoon, Hello Honey and the Moonlight paper stack.  I love how it all works together!
