what does one do when they're up at 4am for work, and decides to work on a card LOL

I made up one of the thank you notes for a co-worker so she could see what they'll look like.

I love how it came out!  I used the same colours from the baby shower invites, and changed it up a little-with the coordinating DSP, and stamped the image on a die-cut from the  SU Apothecary Framelits.

nothing like doing the water colour at 5am LOL  but it came out well.

thanks for stopping by :)

It was a quiet weekend in the igloo.  I didn't get to really play this weekend.  I am getting ready to have my first workshop this coming weekend, so it was time to reorganize and revamp the igloo. lol  However, it's not that easy to do when it's reading 80+ degrees in there *yikes*  so I've seriously considered getting an air conditioner put in down there.

I did work on a few things.  Primarily a birthday card for one of the floor managers at work.  She has been a great supporter of my business here :) So I had to make it special for her

I love the poppy parade colour!  I am so sad to see it retire.  Thankfully I stocked up on some :D

I do think she'll like it.

The other thing I worked on was a set of 10 thank you notes for a baby shower.  I have everything all cut and stamped out. (and they look adorable btw).  All I need to do is water colour the image and put it together.  I'll post a picture of that one when I'm done.

thanks for visiting...I can't wait for the weekend!!!

I love attending classes by my upline.  I get so many great ideas to share!

this time we made some cards and decorated a box! I am loving the new stuff!!!

I love this idea with the framelits dies!  it makes a really cool fun fold card.

we decorated a box for a birthday present.  this is such an adorable idea!  I can see this being done in a lot of the new Stampin up DSP-even for Christmas or a child's birthday!

the front side of the box with the ribbon.  I love the new papers!

what can I say about this card?  The more I use the new Betsy's Blossoms stamp set, the more I love it!  so many different cards I've made with this set, and each one is better than the next!!! I haven't done too many fancy fold cards, but I do like this one!  I like using the ribbon to keep it "closed" by tucking it down a little.

I love the new Stampin UP! in colours!!!!

the inside of the fancy fold card.  just such a cool card!!!

what a great idea for a graduate!  This card was easy to do.  I love the idea as a gift card holder... and it's so easy to customize to school colours!!

I LOVE this stamp set!  I love the peacock, and the sentiment.  This card has so many layers.  I love the new fancy fan embossing folder.  and of course we used the new in colours!  and I do love the new in colour ribbon.

what a busy Friday night!!!  but oh so worth it :)

this weekend was also spent going through my stash of stuff and starting to organize it, for what I want to sell off.  I am getting rid of all my non-stampin UP! stuff.  I pulled out almost all my non SU stamp sets, and put them up on a page to be sold.  I was also gathering up stuff for a friend of mine whom I enabled from overseas and has done remarkably well for herself making/selling her cards!  I am so proud of her!!  But as her enabler...I like being able to send her stuff I can't use that I know she will :)

and I've experienced the creative buzz hitting me when I am supposed to be going to bed LOL

I had to make another masculine bday card and I kinda stumbled on it all weekend.  but at 10pm last night (I should have been in bed by 9) lol I was finishing it up.

I am quite pleased with it tho :)
it uses an old SU stamp set Born to ride, stamped in not quite navy and I've used the well worn DSP.

thanks for looking, I hope you stop by again

Father's Day cards wrap up

Last night I finished up my last 3 cards for the Father's Day orders...

I LOVE this one!  I can see making a few more like this.  I had a few stacks of the SU 6x6 paper packs, and they have a few colours this would work well with.  As much as I hate stripes...this works :)

this one was for a more "blue collar" dad.  I didn't have anything that could be "flannel" but I'm not to disappointed in this one.  I used some of the little buttons and the collar isn't taped down all the way to use as a flap for the gift card.

I do love this Well Worn DSP (retired)  and I was lucky that when I signed on to be a Stampin UP! Demonstrator, I get a free pack every month of my choice!  I got a few packs, knowing the catalog was changing, and that would be going as well.

thanks for stopping by :)

so many cards...so little time

what a busy weekend.  With Father's day approaching, I had to make a little stash of cards to offer at work.  I had fun making them, and some others.

first I made my cousin a bday card.
I loved making this one-and used a masking technique.

Then it was time to work on finishing a couple orders:
first up: a set of note cards and box to hold them in:
there is a set of 10 (2 of each colour)  I kept them simple so they can be used for anything.

the box holds all 10 and envelopes.  I love making this box, and the flowers on the front serve not only for decoration, but keeps it closed as well.

then I got to work on the father's day cards:

I love the "packed for" stamps.  using my stamp-a-majig, I was able to line them up so it looked like a continuous stamped image.  I will have to play more with this stamp.

I really like that it works vertical too!  Simple, but it works.

this one was a bear to work with.  No wonder I hate stripes!!! LOL  but I do think it came out nicely.
and the nice thing-the pocket will hold a gift card for Dad!
*ok, so Dad may not shop at A C Moore... it's all I had lol

I stamped this image when I was at a play day with another demonstrator.  I just knew this image would work for Father's day (and it'll work for birthday as well)  I water coloured the image, kind of relaxing!

I love how these came out.  Just placed the greeting in a different location.
the idea came from another card I saw from a card club I'm in.  I switched it up a bit and made it for Father's day with an airplane.  The distressed look, goes well with the Well Worn paper (retired)

This card was from a card club.  I changed up the greeting to make it for Father's day.  I like this stamp set (took a while to grow on me) but I think I'll have to get it LOL

as if I wasn't busy with all these cards...I had some other birthday ones to make as well...

apothecary birthday

birthday cupcake

everyday elegance birthday
Betsy's Blooms Bday

Thanks for looking :)

Oh my!  We're now halfway through 2012!! where does the time go?!

this morning (before 5am mind you) lol I went down to the igloo to make another masculine birthday card.  Granted I was still half asleep...but I think it came out fine :)  I still may tweak it a bit, for others I may still do.

but it's the weekend!  I have loads planned!!!  Tonight is an open house at my upline's.  We'll be making some more projects-I can't wait for that!  and tomorrow...ahhhh tomorrow!!!  I will be at an all day play day with another demonstrator!  THIS will be fun!!!!!!  I hope to have a lot more cards in my stash ;)

Happy Weekend everyone!!!
